ElevatorPlus: How to Run Your Operations Stress-Free and 3X Your Business

The elevator industry does not have a demand problem. Walk into almost any lift company and you will find more work than the team can comfortably handle, and a business still running on spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and one person who remembers everything.

This book is about the second problem.

Foreword

The Foreword Is Written by Tak Mathews

Tak Mathews has spent nearly four decades in construction and vertical transportation. He is Principal Consultant at TAK Consulting, a representative on the Lifts and Escalators Standards Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Chairman of the Lifts and Escalators Section of the National Building Code of India, and founder of the Elevator and Escalator Safety Trust.

He wrote the foreword to this book. This is part of what he says in it.

"Most enterprise automation platforms placed finance at the centre, forcing operations and reporting to adapt to financial structures rather than reflecting the realities of elevator field operations. As a result, operations, meant to support growth, began to weaken."

"For those responsible for building, running, and sustaining elevator businesses, this book is not just timely; it is necessary."

The Elevator Industry Doesn't Struggle With Demand. It Struggles With Systems.

Manual AMC Tracking

Lost contracts and missed renewals due to spreadsheets & paper trails.

Technician Chaos

Zero visibility on where your team is or whether the job was done right.

Inventory Leaks

Parts disappearing and costs rising without a clear digital audit trail.

Quotation Delays

Slow manual quotations causing lost deals to faster competitors.

Breakdown Mismanagement

Delayed response times leading to frustrated clients and damaged reputation.

Scattered Business Data

Critical sales, AMC, and service data scattered across Excel, WhatsApp, and paper files.

Every one of these is survivable on its own. The trouble is that they compound. A missed renewal is a lost contract. A lost contract is a technician with a lighter week. A lighter week is a quotation nobody chased. By the time it shows up in the numbers it looks like a market problem. It almost never is.

What's Inside

Ninety-one pages, fourteen chapters, no padding. It is written for people who already know this business, so it skips the explaining.

03
What Truly Gives Exponential Growth to an Elevator Business

04
When Operations Become the Biggest Growth Bottleneck
"When growth outpaces systems, operations quietly become the problem."
05
The Real Cost of Operational Bottlenecks
"Operational bottlenecks don't announce themselves. They leak value silently."
06
Why ElevatorPlus Was Born

Plus two appendices and an epilogue. Appendix A is called When NOT to Systemise Yet, and it argues that some businesses should wait. Appendix B is a self-assessment checklist. The epilogue is called The Calm, Controlled, Scalable Elevator Business.

Three Passages

"Unlike many products that are sold once and forgotten, elevators stay with the customer for decades. Every installation creates a long-term relationship, with expectations that grow year after year."

Chapter 1

"What once worked with 10 elevators begins to fail at 50. What worked with 2 technicians collapses at 15. What was manageable in one city becomes chaotic across locations. On the outside, the business looks active. Phones keep ringing. Teams are constantly moving. Work is getting done. But underneath, control is slowly slipping away."

Chapter 4

"The elevator business does not need more effort. It needs better structure. For years, growth in this industry has been mistaken for busyness. Long days, constant calls, and daily firefighting are often worn as badges of honour. But stress is not a sign of success, and chaos is not a growth strategy."

Epilogue

About Sumeet Katariya

Sumeet Katariya is the founder of Accucia Softwares and the creator of ElevatorPlus, the operating system used by more than 200 elevator companies across 20-plus countries. He learned business at eleven, in his father's shop in Ahilyanagar. He built ElevatorPlus because generic ERP kept failing elevator companies in the same predictable way, and because nobody else was going to build the specific thing this industry needed.

The Beginning
Early Foundations
Started learning business at age 11 in his father's shop, developing real-world sales instinct and understanding how long-term customer trust is actually built.
2018 - Accucia Softwares

Innovation
Designing ElevatorPlus

Expansion
Global Collaboration
Worked closely with multi-city and international elevator companies to align systems with real technician behaviour, regulatory demands and service realities.
Today
Operational Transformation Partner
